The J. Edwin Givens Employee Scholarship was established in memory of J. Edwin Givens, a former Board member who devoted over 40 years of service to Covenant Woods and its predecessor, the Richmond Home for Ladies. The J. Edwin Givens Employee Scholarship is awarded annually to one or more deserving employees wishing to further their education through an undergraduate degree or a technical/trade school certificate.

Many employees see Covenant Woods as a starting point in their careers. Since its inception in 2009, the Fund has awarded 142 scholarships totaling more than $228,000.
